Liz Atkin has worked with pencil since Art School in the 70's, after a recent departure
into poetry Liz Atkin has returned with this new body of work, an exhibition of intense,
dark and disturbing drawings at Newcastle Arts Centre a series of 50 heads range from
the imaginary friend of childhood to amongst others, dead, collaged and upside down heads.

In a new, large scale series of seven, Liz Atkin has moved away for the first time from her
fascination with human behaviour. 'Flowers from the End of Life Yard' is the result of time
spent in an auto scrapyard, and is a depiction of the mundane with mourning undertones.
Her work has been exhibtited around Europe and America and Liz has had solo shows
in London, Nottingham, Newcastle and Stirling.
