TRACES OF TIME by Andrea Roberts

5th APRIL to 9th MAY 2013

PREVIEW: 4th APRIL 6-8PM

As we enter spring Newcastle Arts Centre Gallery invite everyone to the Preview of Traces of Time, an exhibition of textiles, drawings and installation by local artist Andrea Roberts on Thursday 4th April 6-8pm.

The combination of large installation textiles and beautifully detailed drawings both in ink and free hand machine embroidery unfold internal thoughts and investigate physical and psychological spaces.

"The large textile installation embodies fragility and vulnerability but has a strong and optimistic presence that happens in the new siting of the work at Newcastle Arts Centre. " Andrea Roberts 2013

Andrea lives in Northumberland, and her pen and ink drawings of sinewy shadows of Northumbrian trees mark boundaries and rituals. They reference corporeal networks and traces of time passing.
