The Black Swan is available for hire, with a full On Licence, we can run music and dance events until 2am Monday to Saturday and 12.30 Sundays. We host a regular Friday night event, but please enquire about booking your party, wedding, theatre or music event on any other day.

The Venue:

The basement Venue is a purpose built performance or function space, fully licensed for theatre and public entertainment. It is a large room with clear space 12 x 12 metres, which is quiet and totally insulated from traffic noise.The basement opens into the Cellar Bar which in turn has access to the Courtyard and Conference Rooms.

Facilities include:

  • a control box with audio mixer
  • Bi-amp vocal PA and 12/24 DMX lighting desk
  • preset lighting rig with 12 x 2k dimmers
  • video projector that can play DVD or live TV.

 

Capacity:

  • The Black Swan Bar only 100
  • Venue 200 / 130 seated as theatre

A small goods lift links the Ground Floor and the Basement.

Conference Facilities:

Located in the Arts Centre's well equipped studio block the Conference Suite is a self contained public or private facility for up to 24 people, with the availablity of an independent reception desk. Facilities include slide projectors, video play back, Digital projector, audio recording and P.A.

Terms of Booking and Using the Venue:

The Black Swan is a celler venue, we have strict fire regulations towards candles, stage props, back ground hangings and fabrics which may need to be brought in as part of a production, tour or event. If you are unsure if these regulations apply to something you wish to use please contact us for more information.

Streamers and table confetti can be used, but a £50 clear up charge will apply.

Upon Booking A £75 deposit (non-refundable) applys.

A minimum age of 25 applys for Birthday Partys.

Viewing of the venue is advised, along with a meeting with the venue manager to run through your event and access requirements.
