waterproof colours for pottery painting !

If you don't like your design its easy to change by wiping off with water, as the colours are not permanent before they are baked. After 24 hours of drying, bake the colours in the oven at 150°C (300°F) for 35 minutes. Once baked, the colours are dishwasher safe.

Porcelaine 150 can be applied to all firm materials that are able to withstand a temperature of 150°C (300°F), such as porcelain, china, glazed earthenware, terracotta, metal, enamelled sheet steel, copper and glass. The choice of base enables many effects to be produced and you can experiment with the transparency and intensity of the colours.

You can use most brushes and tools for craft painting plus sponge and stencil. The Porcelaine 150 outliners, in tube with nozzle, can be used for strong lines. The markers are recommended for light lines and writing.

Colours will flow better with Porcelaine 150 thinner. To produce a matt finish, add a few drops of matt medium to the colour before application. The gloss medium can be used to lighten colours without thinning them.

The colours should applied directly to a perfectly degreased base .After allowing the required drying time (minimum 24 hours), place the decorated object in a cold oven. When the temperature of the oven has reached 150°C (300°F), bake for 35 minutes. Colours then have a real enamelled look and resist dishwashing.

Brushes with synthetic fibres as used for watercolour painting are recommended.
