Soft Pastels

TUTOR: Aidan Doyle

Four Day Workshop

Wednesdays

18th & 25th February, 4th & 11th March

10 am - 1pm

Course fee - £75

The aim of this course is to develop confidence and competencies in pastel, and a broad understanding of the medium and its possibilities. We will examine a number of pictures, including historical works and our own personal images. The course will cover colour, underpainting, use of light, tone and combining techniques learned through these exercises to create sketches and completed works.

An Introduction to Painting in Acrylic

TUTOR: Narbi Price

Four Day Workshop

Wednesdays

18th & 25th February, 4th & 11th March

6 pm- 9 pm

Couse fee - £95

Narbi Price will lead an in-depth introduction to painting with Acrylics; covering materials, surface preparation, colour theory & composition, painting techniques & mediums. Working from a variety of source materials on a range of supports, and suitable for all levels of experience each week will focus on developing different and diverse skills.

Chinese Brush Painting

As part of Chinese New Year, Dr Chun-Chao will provide an in-depth introduction into a selection of Chinese brush painting techniques over this four week course.

Introduction to Watercolour

An Introduction to Painting from Photographs

Most representational painters use photographic reference at some point. This short course with artist Narbi Price will explore difference approaches to creatively using photographic source material, exploring how to use the photograph without becoming a slave to it!

Creative Drawing

Painting 101

TUTOR: Narbi Price

One Day Workshop

Part-lecture, part workshop, part-surgery, join technical expert and self-confessed 'paint geek' Narbi Price for this one day event exploring all of the main painting media. Fundamental to producing successful paintings is a good working knowledge of the materials used - this session will look at making paintings from the ground up and address common problems and pitfalls.

Drawing for the Terrified Crash Course

A crash course for anyone who has always wanted to be able to draw: you'll discover that you can! We'll look at ways in which you can tap into the drawing side of your brain and then develop a few techniques to get you drawing from observation.

Suitable for absolute beginners or those who have not drawn for a long time.
