The ie project which aims to create Innovation through Education, will be showcasing students' work at Newcastle Arts Centre as part of DE07
(Design Exhibition 2007) on the 8th - 20th October.

Secondary school students from St Bede's Catholic School & Sixth Form College in Lanchester, Durham, Blyth Community College, Northumberland and Monkseaton Community School, North Tyneside have been involved in the project.

 

The group have been working with leading retailers and designers to deliver a range of exciting and Innovative design briefs. The culmination of this year's project will be presented during the prestigious Design Exhibition 07. This project has been an exciting opportunity for students to gain an insight into the design Industry and work with leading professionals in their field; they have also had the opportunity to work with other students and schools in a creative context.

 

All students, teachers and the designers involved are really enthusiastic about the chance to exhibit their creative achievements.

ie, is an exciting cross education authority project between Blyth Community College, St Bedes, Lanchester and Monkseaton Community High.


The philosophy behind
ie, is to provide a platform for encouraging and promoting'creative innovation through education'. The project focuses on a number of creativestudents from each school, who are contributing to collaborative 'real life' design challenges set by leading design companies and retailers;
H & M, Elbo and Moderato.
