	Hire an Arts Centre Venue for an original Party Night! Dates available include Thursday and Saturday Nights The Black Swan is the music and dance venue of Newcastle Arts Centre fully licensed, for music, theatre, dance and holds a late bar license. It occupies the basement of the Arts Centre and is entered from a private courtyard. As an arts venue it’s very flexible and used to catering for a wide variety of events, when you hire the Black Swan you have the use of three spaces, the courtyard surrounded by historic buildings, the bar that’s a venue in itself with space for a band or disco and buffet tables, this leads on to the main venue which has a capacity of 200 with a good dance floor, cabaret table plan, a stage, theatre lighting, a sound system and video projection. You can plan a different mood or theme for each space and our experienced staff who are here to help you organise your event. The venue hosts Newcastle’s most popular Salsa dance night every Friday Each dance night includes lessons for beginners. This underground venue now has an improved bar, easier access, a new cloakroom/ reception and improved acoustics
Live Samba Dance Workshop Free 6pm Friday July 9th	Cris Leadbitter a Brazilian choreographer and performer with her live band The workshop will consist of original dances from Brazil including Samba and Axe. Cris has been involved in many Samba workshops and projects around Northumberland with live performances from the group Batida de Rua and generally involved in Latin dance for 15 years including teaching, choreographing and holding events. A different warm-up to the established Salsa night at the Black Swan
Every Friday	Please note that the Friday Night Salsa Dance in the Black Swan is a regular event ,Admission £6 / £4 concessions.   Salsa every Friday .....

Fridays	Friday night is Salsa Dance Night ...Admission £6. before 9pm. Doors Open 7.30pm lessons 8pm - 8.45 ....Dancing til Midnight , late bar......All welcome.
	a no smoking venue The direction of programme development will move away from the Bar and look to the creative use of the venue for arts projects, corporate and community events. All future bookings will be accepted on the understanding that smoking is not permitted in any part of the arts centre except for the courtyard.
