Exhibition until Saturday 28th August.
Heather Grey is a North East based painter and graphic artist, whose vivid artwork and collage creations fuse historically inspired imagery with modern aesthetics.
With a degree in History from St. Andrews and background in fine art, design and vintage ephemera, her career as a freelance artist has enabled her to combine her varied passions and experience into a unique visual style.
Influenced by a wide range of eras and artists, including Imperial Russia and religious icons, Medieval illuminated manuscripts, Art Nouveau, Leon Bakst and Alphonse Mucha, her work features antique images, dramatic contrasts and rich gold details, all imbued with intense, jewel-like colour palettes. Working with both physical media and digital technology, her preferred painting medium is acrylic on cotton canvas board, with collages rendered in archival pigment inks on fine cotton-rag paper with hand-applied acrylic embellishments.
