Matt MacKellar and Ben Lawrence, two of the brightest prospects from the North East jazz scene team up with virtuoso bassman, Andy Champion to present a night of Neo-soul and modern jazz classics. The collective is returning to the Black Swan where they first performed to introduce a new, sophisticated sound to the North East scene. With contemporary influences such as Robert Glasper and Erykah Badu, as well as the likes of musical legends Mulgrew Miller and Stevie Wonder, the band adapts an array of styles into their own to create a night of familiar yet exploratory music.
