Modernist Portrait- June

This is a 4 day course running on:
Thursdays 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th June,
10 am – 1 pm.Experiment in new ways of seeing and creating!

The workshop is based on fast drying acrylic paints using a variety of supports, and personal guidance, demonstrations, and positive feedback will be provided in a supportive and friendly artistic working environment. All painting styles are welcome.

 

Modernist Artists of the early 20th century broke free from traditional forms and techniques of picture making in search of new means of expression. Artists sought out novel approaches that embraced individualism, experimentation, expressive colour, unique forms and symbols, and challenging concepts of beauty.

Booking Procedure – What happens next?

If you pay online you will be sent an email to let you know your place has been booked.

What should you bring with you on the day?

Nothing at all! We provide all the materials you need for every course as well as tea & coffee for lunch time break (if possible please bring your own flask).
We do recommend wearing clothing that is easily washed – just in case!

Lunch

Lunch is not provided.

Where do the art courses take place?

Gallery space (same building as details Art Store). This can be reached through the Black Swan Courtyard on Westgate Road.

Parking

We recommend parking in the Grainger Town Multi-Storey (NE1 4DP) – 5 Minute walk from Newcastle Arts Centre.

Cancelling a course booking?

If you are not able to come to a course you have booked just get in touch with us as soon as you can. We will try to arrange a full refund where possible. If there is no time to re-advertise the place we will always book you on to a future course at no additional cost.

Buying a course place as a gift?

We are happy to post you out a gift voucher for any one of our courses! Just let us know at the checkout under Additional Comments or give us a call during business hours.

Safety guidance

-Courses will be held at the Studio A as this allows better ventilation and it is a larger space.

-The maximum number of attendants will be 9 plus tutor, and each will have their own table

-We kindly ask you to use a face mask or visor, please ask for one in case you need it.

– Gloves and sanitiser will be available for all.
